Arkansas transfer CB Lorando Johnson Commits to Baylor

Former Baylor cornerback and Arkansas transfer Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson has committed to rejoin Baylor after spending one season in Fayetteville.

The 6-foot-0, 195-pound prospect started 11 games this past season as he made six starts at cornerback and five at nickel back. Johnson was slated to start at nickel this season for the Razorbacks but he was facing competition from Tennessee transfer Doneiko Slaughter this spring.

Johnson took steps backwards in all phases of the game during his time in Fayetteville as his PFF defensive grade went from 75 to 59.6, run defense grade went from 62.9 to 49.6, and his coverage grade went from 76.2 to 60.6.

Johnson would fit in nicely to the Bears secondary as he knows the system and coaches, size, plays with an edge, and has a very versatile skill set. He will start off at cornerback for Baylor when he returns to campus but has experience playing STAR as well.

He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

"I couldn't get on the field at Arkansas so I guess I'm going back". Didn't the premium board say he was not a big loss?

Did you even read the article? He started 11 games for them.

It also says that he was facing competition from another transfer and had taken a step back in all aspects of his game.

Some of our fans want Aranda to fail more than they want Baylor to be good. It's weird.

There's plenty to be critical of in our program right now. *****ing about adding three starting caliber defensive players -- one of which was a good player for us as a sophomore -- is weird.

For real. We have some people on this board that have gone straight over the edge into full-on deranged in their hope for Aranda and Rhoades to fail.

Another Mark Twain quote which rings true to this day." In religion and politics peoples beliefs and convictions are almost in every case gotten second hand and without examination"

That's definitely true of most atheists that I know. Mark Twain was a fairly perceptive man

Without getting into the discussion on his abilities, coaching or anything I will say that this transfer shows one of the problems with the transfer rules with him leaving us, not liking the team he went to and then coming back.

Apparently a lot of folks failed to read the next paragraph which is very telling......Starts don't mean much...how many snaps...lets see what Patterson can do with him..

Dave Aranda benched a quarterback that started more than 11 games for us and won a sugar bowl in our best season ever, so that actually means nothing
