WACO, Texas - Baylor's 11th-ranked women's tennis team will host No. 47 Oklahoma at 5 p.m. on Friday and then take on No. 42 Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Lady Bears (15-5, 2-1) the pair of Big 12 Conference matches on a three-match win streak after going through a stretch of five losses in eight matches. Each of the three most recent wins have come by a score of 4-3, including victories over No. 22 Clemson, Kansas and No. 75 Kansas State.
During the stretch, Baylor's trio of seniors have each gone undefeated in singles play to contribute to the wins. In the No. 1 spot, 13th-ranked Diana Nakic has a three-match win streak, including a victory over 30th-ranked Petra Niedermayerova of Kansas State.
Secerbegovic, who moved up to No. 24 this week, was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for her superb performances in the three matches. Novakova, who is ranked No. 46, currently has a five-match win streak.
In the all-time series, Baylor is 14-3 with eight consecutive wins over the Sooners and 15-4 with 10 consecutive wins over the Cowgirls.
OU brings in a No. 42 ranking with a 9-8 record that includes a 4-1 mark in Big 12 play. The Sooners have turned around their season, having won four of the last six after going 5-6 to start the season. Oklahoma features a ranked duo at the top of their doubles line in the 46th-ranked tandem of Marie -Pier Huet and Whitney Ritchie.
Oklahoma State will play at Texas Tech on Friday, before coming to Baylor on Sunday. The Cowgirls have compiled a 10-4 overall mark with a 4-1 league record entering the weekend. OSU features one ranked player at the top of its singles lineup in C.C. Sardinha at No. 120.
