Have we ever signed a more prominent female distance runner than Bedell? She is awesome!

Her time would have placed 2nd in the Big 12 prelims today! Another thing to note is that Queito Teasley got 2nd in the 5A long jump with 24'1".

Wow. She could be a legend in-the-making.

Not to diminish her accomplishments, but she will have high standards to beat...her standards are set by Natalie Nalepa, Lisa Stone, and Sandy Forsythe. Lisa was our first All American, and made it in the 10,000 meters,

Erin's 1600 time is the fastest in the nation. I doubt if our women's team has ever signed someone that highly esteemed nationally.

My niece, a freshman at Burnet High School (4A), got third in the discus to the two girls who have the nation's best throws. Michael Carter's daughter won it at 160+ while another girl threw 150+ to take second. Ashley Field threw 139' + to take third place. She placed third in the Texas Relays last month.

She has the potential to play at D1 level in three sports--basketball (1st team All-District as a fish), softball and track & field. She is currently playing on Clarissa Davis's spring/summer AAU basketball team.

I've made a mental note to look for Ashley Field in future track & field results. Maybe her uncle can put in a good word for BU.

Channel 8 in Dallas just showed clips from both of Erin's wins. She runs with a lot of determination, but it seems that she swings her arms from side to side instead of pumping them up and down parallel to her path.

Wacoso, she is currently just over 6'1" but still growing.

UT has been courting her all year. I did not realize that they could provide tickets to home UT basketball games to kids that were only freshmen.

I refuse to give out my weight!
