And Darold win the individual 400.

Didn't Lakadron do pretty good as well? Maybe they will show her long jump.

She got 2nd in the LJ, 100 and 200.

Did any of the girls win any event?

05-20-05, 10:17 PM
Nope. Lots of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishes though.

TTT. This starts in an hour. I'll watch while listening to the baseball game.

They s/b showing Darold's open 400 win soon.

Jerome Miller ran a fast 13.86 and barely missed out on 2nd place in the 100 hurdles.

Darold blew them away (45.33) by about 15 feet. The TT guy in lane 5 (Michael Matthew) ran the first 200 way too fast and was way ahead of Darold, but Darold said he wasn't worried at that point. His race starts at that point. Nice interview afterwards. He said he's ready to pop a 44.

LaKadron Ivery looked good getting 2nd in the 100. Marshavet Hooker (UT) is just too fast. Liz Wilson got 3rd.

The KSU girl died the last 50 meters after having a huge lead in the 800. Erin Bedell will do quite nicely for us next year. Her time of 2:08 would easily qualify for the NCAA regionals and she'll have a shot at the Big 12 record of 2:03.6.

05-21-05, 04:12 PM
Fitts looked good in the 800 until the last 100 and fell from 3rd to 5th. Jonathan Johnson (TT) is a stud (made the semi-finals in the Olympics) 1:44.86.

05-21-05, 04:21 PM
Danielle Myricks stuttered before the first and last hurdles and finished 3rd. Otherwise she would have been 2nd. Walker for UT blew the field away with an awesome time.

05-21-05, 04:42 PM
The women's 4x400 was a great 3-way race. Danielle got the stick with a slight lead, but UT had Jerrika Chapple and she won it for them. Danielle dropped to 3rd, but finished strong passing TT. All 3 teams were within about 5 feet.

Darold is a stud! Fitts didn't have much gas left after running the 800 earlier, so we dropped behind. Mutai and Teter had us near the lead on the first 2 legs. Darold started about 10 meters behind and stayed that far back until about 150 meters remained. He turned on the after-burners and barely caught TT.

that was an incredible come from behind win by Darold. man that guy refused to lose.

Boy we were woefully weak in the short sprints. the girls gave a tremendous effort. I was so proud of them.

It just seemed like our men's team were missing in too many events. No depth whatsoever.

If we get the football players back for track and with the runners we have signed for next year we should be better on the men's side. I hope.

Regardless, Fox gave a lot of great coverage to BU. Even when the meet was over and they were showing that TT had won the team comp., they were talking about Baylor winning the 4x400 and Darold's finnish.

GarlandBear84, thanks for posting the notice about the telecast. I caught the second hour and am thankful. Darold was behind nearly 15m with 250 to go. Flat awesome.

You're welcome! I enjoyed watching it. We just don't get enough track on TV.
