    The Bear Dome?

Check out the front page of the Waco Trib right now. Some guy wants to build Baylor a DOME.

to host the Big12 title game, I think they will want more than 55k......

With that said, looks pretty cool overall.

Would be awesome to see that in 2015.

I bet that place would get loud and be a nice homefield advantage.

If it becomes true, then they should call it the Bear Cave!

    What about the Island Condos?

That would be great even though the Island would be torn down. Better clean up that neighborhood north of the dome.

I'm not a huge fan of domed stadiums. More power to him if he wants to give us one, but I'd rather watch football out in the open air.

...anyone remember the tiles that used to fall from the ceiling at the Kingdome? I just think a dome would be more trouble than it's worth. Higher maintenance costs and such.

Change that to an open air place, and I like what he's got there.

Yeah...we have a problem filling a '50k' stadium (though with the tarp, it's decidedly less than that). I don't think the answer to that is to build another stadium with increased seating capacity. If we build another football venue, i'd say we should set our sites on something a little more reasonable like Louisville's Papa John stadium (42k capacity)...which, btw, was only $63 million or so (I say 'only' given UT's endzone expansion was $150M itself).

I'd imagine w/out a retractable roof, you are already talking about $300M minimum and about $500M with one. Isn't JerryWorld about $1B?

    "The Den."

Rick Sheldon can dream very well, but dreams cost $$$$ to make real.

So, it's more "jerking off" than anything else, and I use that term as a term of art gained from Blazing Saddles.

His IH-35 bridge has been scaled down considerably.

I like the dome concept because Ferrell only seats 10K and the demand for Baylor basketball will eventually go beyond that 10K. We could play some games in the dome, which could hold 20K for basketball, making it unnecessary to ever build a larger arena.

(well, it would work until we could build a larger basketball arena.)

    Two issues:

    1. We wouldn't be able to call Prestonwood Baptist Church "The Baptidome" anymore.
    2. No steeples.

Like most promoters, Sheldon knows how to wear a hat.

500M is more than the Arizona Cardinals place cost, so I'm pretty sure we could come in under that.

Jerryworld is at 1.2B. haysoo creesto.

ps- I'm anti-dome. I'd give my left grape for an on campus stadium of ANY sort, but I'd prefer open air seating around 50-55K
