Baylor went up to #6 in Warren Nolan now.
Boyds World has Baylor at #7 through Saturday, but they are certainly back up in the Top 6 after 2 Baylor wins and a loss by #6 A&M on Sunday.Last edited by ValpoCory; 04-16-12 at 12:19 AM.

Up to #3 RPI according to Boyd's world...AWESOME.
http://boydsworld.com/baseball/rpi/currentrpi.html
Oh yeah, and according to our "needs" report, we can finsh the season 3-5 and still end up with a top 8 RPI. Great spot to be in.

Taking 2 from #22 New Mexico State would help. 1 down 1 to go.
OU and UT are rated well below NMS.Last edited by Jacques Strap; 04-27-12 at 10:15 PM.

The RPI point differential looks fairly big between the Bears and the top two teams.

I haven't updated this thread very often because there hasn't been a whole lot of movement in Baylor's RPI, but I figured I'd revive this thread as we are roughly 72 hours away from the announcements of national seeds and regional hosts.
5/24 update:
http://www.boydsworld.com/baseball/rpi/currentrpi.html
1 UCLA
2 Florida
3 Florida State
4 Baylor
5 Oregon
6 North Carolina
7 Texas A&M
8 LSU
9 NC State
10 Virginia
11 Rice
12 Stanford
13 South Carolina
14 Miami
15 Purdue
16 Arizona
17 Arizona State *ineligible for the tournament
18 Kentucky
19 Cal State Fullerton
20 Arkansas
36 Oklahoma
45 Texas
A couple of questions:
Is Texas going to get in?
They are sitting at 45 right now in the RPI and are on the verge of losing to Kansas (165 RPI) which is going to put them in even worse shape. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they don't get in.
Who gets national seeds?
I found some good info from the Rice message board (they stole it from the LSU board and I'm stealing it from them) about the past RPI's of national seeds:

UCLA, FLorida State, Florida are locks if you consider that a top 3 RPI team has NEVER not gotten a national seed.
Baylor is a lock with their top 4 RPI as well as their regular season Big XII championship (winning the regular season championship is a big factor that the committee takes into consideration when choosing national seeds).
I think Oregon is also likely a lock (assuming they win the PAC 12 regular season championship).
Despite their RPI being 9th, LSU is a lock...no way they don't give a national seed to the champion of the best conference in the country.
North Carolina almost defintely gets a ntional seed, although I wouldn't call them a lock.
That leaves 1 spot. Coming into the conference tournaments, I thought it was South Carolina's to lose. They put that in jeopardy when they lost to Vanderbilt last night. I still think South Carolina is in the drivers seat to get the last national seed, but they could certainly be left out if they lose to Auburn tonight.
This is the way I see the fight for the last national seed as it stands right now:
1) South Carolina
2) Rice
3) Texas A&M (Needs South Carolina and Rice to lose)
4) Stanford (I don't see the NCAA giving the PAC a third national seed and not the SEC)
Thoughts?

good post, Pike. missed it yesterday
Texas is 51st in RPI. I expect them to be a 3 seed somewhere like Rice... committee gonna committee
agreed that our national seed is locked up, and so is LSU. I think, unless everything breaks right for aggy, that LSU-aggy and Baylor-Rice regionals will be matched up...
