I couldn't said it any better on this response. Remember last offseason we didn't transfer commits right away. Be patient.

Patience patience. Grad students can transfer any time. Everyone else deadline for transfer portal is May 1. This past week was dead period, no contact. Will be tons of activity this week and the next 3-4 weeks. Visits are starting this week. There are now over 1,000 players in the portal. Coach and staff are looking for those players who are good fit at Baylor, not just anybody, we have limited number of scholarships. Just because our anxious Baylor fans aren't hearing anything publicly doesn't mean Coach doesn't have things going on in the pipeline.

Think we are being patient to see who hits the portal.

So, Hailey Van Lith to Miss State this weekend for a visit....nothing against Miss State but just a little surprised that HVL would even consider them as a new team...of course would we have any interest in her at this point? She wants to go back to more of an off-guard position not point guard. she likes to score the ball. Interesting to think about if she and Sara both wound up a BU how that would have worked out in the long run?

I think she and Kim came to the decision that if she wanted to abandon the point guard experiment there was too much in front of her to get minutes. Johnson and Williams (interchangeable at 2 and 3) Poa and their freshman are LSU's remaining point guard options.

She had the opportunity to come to Baylor out of HS but did not. I assume she either did not want to come to Waco or did not want to play under KM. I have no idea what is was, but since she played under KM this past season, I assume she just did not want to come to Waco?

She has said that the throw it in the paint to Queen and Lyss game was not why she wanted to do, the relationship with KM was there but not the system for her to thrive.

Van Lith had Baylor and Louisville as her final 2. She chose Louisville because Baylor did not have the system she was looking for. It had nothing to do with town of Waco. But her relationship with Kim continued to be strong. After 3 years with Louisville, she received feedback from Wnba she is too short, she needed PG experience, and improve her defense to make it in the Wnba. That's why she went to LSU, to learn PG from Kim and improve on defense. It didn't work out at PG. She has addtl covid year to go back as scoring guard to improve her draft stock. But she has already been told by Wnba she needs to play PG and improve on defense. No matter where she goes, PG and defense will not improve, she isn't fast enough for the SEC. Her best game is rapid fire shooting, volume shooting, like she did at Louisville, but that alone won't work in Wnba.

Walz at Louisville promised to make her the offensive focus at Louisville like he did with Asia Durr [who ended up being the overall #2 draft pick in the WNBA]. Dribble drive O with the ball in her hands 90+% of the time.

Of course he made that same promise to Dana Evans who actually got the role. Van Lith shifted to SG and her pro shot got dump trucked. She was already a poor PG……anyone who watched her play on the USA U19 team could see it…..,way too much dribbling, poor D, very ineffective. Walz was the HC of that team & was recruiting Van Lith…..so she started over Caitlin Clark & Bueckers was shifted to SG. Egbo was on that team. If she wanted to see the all she had to rebound it. Smith quit that team because of the set-up.

BTW…….notice how every Louisville player [Durr, Engstler, etc.] that was a high WNBA draft pick fizzled badly?
The archaic dribble drive offense at Louisville teaches zero skills that translate to the pros. Similar to Mulkey's set piece O. Better be an elite athlete to justify the time needed to learn to operate in a pro O…..Griner, Smith, etc.

HVL's trash talk writes checks her play can't cash. #recruitthehood (Washington State?)

Van Lith visited Miss State over weekend. Her former Asst Coach at Louisville is now HC at Miss State. But it's still the SEC, she will continue to have defensive problems, not having enough quickness/speed defending SEC speed. Every team in SEC knows her well. West coast will probably be her best best bet, close to home, and not in the SEC.

Kyla Abraham is 6'3". Does she figure into CNC'a plans for next season? Is Madison Bartly's back healing?

I don't see either of them contributing key minutes.
