The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I'm over the hype from Dave, Grayson, and Company that we have received the last two offfseasons. Just win.
Sounds like you need to opt out of spring football update threads then. This is boilerplate coachspeak and player progress updates every program in the country spits out every spring every year for every season college football has existed. There's nothing insidious or ingenious about spring football. It's just catnip for people who need any sort of football fix.
You are probably right. Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. I'll own it, probably no need for me to comment on this one. However, I guess my thought is that I am glad to have updates on spring practice, player's development. But saying things like, "this offense is going to be scary if it gets going" just kind of drives me nuts because that's just stating the obvious. if it works it will be good, if it doesn't it will be bad. Some of the prognostication about how good certain units will be or how "effective" some of the coaches could be, just gets old when its been the same thing coming off of back to back disappointment seasons. At this point, just give us the facts, talk about players that have stood out in practice/workouts so far, and let the results speak for themselves come September.
